Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Xiomara Orue
Welcome to Mrs. Orue's Musical Notes!
My name is Xiomara Orue. I am originally from New York. I received my B.A. in Music at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, City University of New York. My areas of focus included Music Education with specialized focus in orchestra, band, choir and general music. I am pursuing my Masters of Music in Music Education at Kent State University. I have implemented orchestras and bands in several schools. I also directed a church choir and symphonic church orchestra for over five years in New York. My love of music stems from being raised in a musical family, where I first learned to play the piano with my mother, attending yearly piano auditions, held at Carnegie Hall with the National Guild of Piano Teachers, through high school. I have participated in band, playing clarinet; in orchestra, playing violin, as concert master from middle school through high school. I participated in various singing groups including Glee Club, Concert Choir, and a Community Chorus from grade school through college. While studying music at Queens College, and being a member of the Choir, I had the pleasure of singing the alto part in performances at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Lefrak Concert Hall, Colden Auditorium, SUNY Purchase and a Cathedral in New York City. I enjoy gardening, playing tennis, kayaking, skiing and video gaming with my husband in my free time.
